We were lucky to get a visit from a local author called Gareth Baker. We retold the story of the 3 little pigs with Gareth and had great fun.
We dressed up as characters from our favourite stories and read some of our favourite stories. We made porridge for the three bears and looked for clues around the nursery about different story characters. Everyone dressed up and looked amazing. Look at some of our photographs to see how we dressed up.
We have been having fun learning about pancake day today. The children have mixed pancakes and tossed them in a pan. We read a story called 'Mr Wolf's pancakes' and had a pancake race outside. Everyone had great fun.
Well done everyone.
We have been learning about Chinese New Year in Rainbow class. This year is named after the Rooster. We have made different crafts, made a Chinese restaurant, tasted noodles, practised using chopsticks and tried dragon dancing. We have had great fun learning about the traditions of Chinese New year.
Enjoy looking at some of the photographs that show some of the things we have done.

Our 3rd parent workshop about Science has taken place and we had great fun working together to make rockets, mobiles and varnishing our volcanoes.
We tested our rockets outside and enjoyed pumping air into our bottles to make them zoom across the wire.
Parents/grandparents and children have worked very hard. We can't wait for next week when we can make the volcanoes erupt.
Great work everyone!!
We have had our 2nd Science themed workshop. This was great fun and involved making robots, rockets, painting our volcanoes and creating skeletons. We also made slime-using yogurt, food colouring and cornflour. Everyone worked very hard and shared their ideas. We can't wait for the next workshop!!
Many thanks to everyone that has joined us so far. The workshop is available to any child in red, green or rainbow classes with a parent/grandparent helper. Please speak to Mrs Cable for further details.

We had an exciting workshop with parents/ grandparents and children from red, green and rainbow classes. We have just started our Scirnce exploration this term. We found out what happened to things when we changed them. We made bread, butter and volcanoes.Everyone had great fun and made some exciting things. Many people took some ideas to try at home and we look forward to seeing what happened as they discovered new things.

Red and Green class were lucky to have a visit from Hucknall firefighters. We looked at a powerpoint about keeping safe, talked about smoke alarms and how to 'stop, drop and roll' if clothes catch fire. The children learnt the importance of learning their address and all about the uniform the firefighters wear. The visit was finished by a look at the fire engine. The children enjoyed the visit, so a big thank you to the firefighters for using their time to visit and anseer our many questions.
We had a lovely party in Nursery with lots of games, food and a special visit from Father Christmas. Every child received a present and we sang some songs for Santa.
Many thanks to parents that sent such delicious food and for sending such amazing children to join in with the Christmas fun.
The staff and helpers had a lovely time too.
Mrs Cable and the Nursery team.
Wew had our 3rd successful Christmas craft workshop this term. There was a great turnout with everyone making Rudolph hats, bird feeders and a decorated biscuit. We had great fun and worked very hard at the same time.
Following the success of these workshops we will be starting some new workshops for foundation children and their parent/ carers in the New year.
