House Cup results
Congratulations to members of SHAKESPEARE house, who are this half-term's winners of the House Point Trophy. The results were very close in the end, with lesson than 100 points difference between the first and third places:
Online Safety
At this time of year, many families may be introducing new phones and tablets into the house. While these have many benefits, we of course want to make sure that children are always safe. This week, Nottinghamshire Police have released a warning for families about some incidents where children have used social media applications and ended up in contact with inappropriate individuals. More information can be found on the Nottinghamshire Police website.
Growth Mindset
As part of our school improvement priorities we are doing a lot of work on Growth Mindset. The best way for me to explain this to you is by showing you a PowerPoint presentation Mrs Mould has put together, (download here) or to direct you to a video presentation by Carol Dweck who has done lots of work on Growth Mindset. This link is to the video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiiEeMN7vbQ.
SPAG (GPS) resource
As I'm sure you're aware the new National Curriculum has a much greater emphasis on grammar, punctuation and spelling (GPS or SPAG). In school we are doing lots of work to help pupils prepare for the demands of the new curriculum but we thought it would be useful to share some of the key vocubulary if you so you can support your child at home. The document below was sent to us from SATs Companion website and is designed as a really useful placemat so children can refer to it but we thought it would also be a useful guide for parents or children at home.
Christmas Jumper Day
As part of our school's fundraising events this year we will be having a Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 18th December 2015. For a minimum donation of £1 per family your child can come to school wearing their favourite Christmas jumper. For more information about what the money is used for please follow the link below;
